IGC Choregoraphy A Favourite with The Judges

Inverness Gymnastics Club’s TeamGym group took part in the Saltire Mega Event competition in Meadowmill yesterday (Sunday) brining home the accolade of “Best floor routine of the day” as decided collectively by the event judges.

Teamgym is an exciting, dynamic and interactive discipline within gymnastics, and one that IGC has worked to develop within the club over the past two years.. TeamGym competitions exhibit gymnastic skills in three different disciplines, Floor, Trampette and Tumbling. All 3 require effective team work, excellent technique in the elements and spectacular acrobatic elements.

This weekend, the eight girls executed their tumble rotation demonstrating improved difficulty on previous years and gaining improved execution scores to match. In the trampette and vault, despite a couple of falls, the girls delivered a confident performance, again improving scores against previous events.

The highlight of the day however, was the floor performance. Showcasing their Carnival De Paris routine for the last time, the girls hit their formations and demonstrated both skill and style, ultimately taking home the award for best floor routine of the day.

IGC also recognises coaches Kate Steer and John McWilliams who attended in the role of lead coach for their first time, supporting the girls and ensuring the day ran smoothly – well done team.
