TODDLER & PRESCHOOL
Our Parent & Toddler and Pre-school classes offer the perfect opportunity to start learning and appreciating the benefits of gymnastics fundementals. Focusing on balance, coordination, movement and rebound, these classes incorporate music, play and hand apparatus to support the development of gymnastics basics.
Parent & Toddler classes are suitable from 18month, with precshool classes open to nursery aged children. When the gymnasts start school, IGC will work to provide a space in a Primary 1 class. For more information on preschool sessions please click here.
BEGINNER AND RECREATIONAL CLASSES
IGC offer a large number of classes for gymnasts from Primary 1 to S6. These classes run once per week teaching giving gymnastics the opportunity to have fun whilst learning and progressing a range of skill and improving their fitness. Our experienced coaching team deliver a structured programme of lessons across the school term incorporating floor work, strength and flexibility, balance, vaulting and tumbling tailored to suit all abilities.
P1-3 classes allow children to try out the sport, grasp the basics and work towards British Gymnastics certificates.
P4+ classes also welcome beginners, whilst progressing those from previous classes through more advanced skills.
All gymnasts within IGC classes will automatically be offered a place in the next age category as they get older.
CLUB LEVEL GYMNASTICS
Where gymnastics within the beginner and recreational classes and school's gymnastics network are identified as showing significant talent, IGC will invite them to train as a competitive club gymnast. As with the classes, spaces can only be offered when they arise as all groups within the club currently operate at capacity.
The Club currently competes and performs in Women's Artistic, Men's Artistic, TeamGym and Display Gymnastics.
